Case-based reasoning system for prediction of fuel consumption by haulage trucks in open-pit mines

چکیده

The shovel-truck system is commonly used in open-pit mining operations. Truck haulage cost constitutes about 26% of costs as the trucks are mostly powered by diesel whose escalating annually. Therefore, reducing fuel consumption could lead to a significant decrease overall costs. Various methods have been proposed improve efficiency mines. Case-based reasoning (CBR) can be estimate trucks. In this work, CBR namely case-based using forward sequential selection (CBR-FSS), traditional CBR, and Naïve techniques were predict operating at Orapa Mine. results show that method mines; predicted values CBR-FSS technique gave much lower absolute residual values, higher standardised accuracy effect sizes than those other prediction on all datasets used. will enable mine planners know consumed per trip allow them take mitigation measures with high consumption.

An interactive simulation model of human drivers to study autonomous haulage trucks

Driverless haulage trucks have recently been developed for open pit mines. To predict the benefits of an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS), a deterministic/stochastic model has been created to compare AHS to a manual system by estimating benchmarked Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, safety, breakdown frequencies, maintenance and labor costs, fuel consumption, tire wear, and ...

Development of a goal programming model for optimization of truck allocation in open pit mines

Truck and shovel operations comprise approximately 60% of the total operating costs in open pit mines. In order to increase productivity and reduce the cost of mining operations, it is essential to manage the equipment used with high efficiency. In this work, the chance-constrained goal programing (CCGP) model presented by Michalakopoulos and Panagiotou is developed to determine an optimal truc...

A quantitative model for evaluation and classification of blastings in open-pit mines

By evaluation of the blasting results, a proper blast pattern can be presented. It is, therefore, essential to employ a reliable method to evaluate blastings for the effective control and optimization of the main cycle operations. This paper aims to propose a criterion for evaluating the blasting results such as the fragmentation, muckpile condition, back-break, and fly rock, and to make a poss...

Determination of the largest pit with the non-negative net profit in the open pit mines

The determination of the Ultimate Pit Limit (UPL) is the first step in the open pit mine planning process. In this stage that parts of the mineral deposit that are economic to mine are determined. There are several mathematical, heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms to determine UPL. The optimization criterion in these algorithms is maximization of the total profit whilst satisfying...
